Toward the long-awaited Salar de Uyuni. From the city of Uyuni, we will first take a vehicle to Incahuasi Island, located in the center of the Salar. From there, a few more kilometers by car, and the participants will be dropped off in the middle of the world's largest salt flat, exactly 15 kilometers from another island, Isla Pescado. Isla Pescado is the largest island in the Salar, and it is also where we will camp for the night. Runners will have to cover the 15 kilometers that separate them from the island.
Running on the Salar is a unique and disorienting experience. You don’t know where you are; you may feel like you’re not making any progress, and even though it is completely flat, the salt is quite uneven, making running more challenging.
