Second stage in the Salar, this time by bike. Our goal today is to cycle from the island where we spent the night to the shore of the Salar, 40 kilometers further north.
With the imposing Tunupa volcano at 5,400 meters in altitude in sight, our destination today is the small community of Jirira, located on the edge of the Salar, on the slopes of the volcano.
Cycling in the Salar de Uyuni is a complete experience; some parts are very easy, and you feel as if you're flying, while other parts are very uneven, and even if it’s completely flat, it's not that easy to progress.
